The celebration of the liturgy in the Byzantine-Slavic rite introduces one to the Divine Mystery and is of great ecumenical significance. The discovery of such a shared treasure in the ecclesial tradition is an act of remembrance and communion with the Church of the East.
Among Russia Cristiana’s many forms of expression, its Choir is of particular importance, thanks also to the experience of prof. Ludwig Pikler from the Collegium Russicum in Rome. It studies and intones chants from the byzantine tradition at concerts and Divine Liturgy. The Choir may be booked to sing at concerts of sacred and popular Russian music. It has also arranged an interesting presentation on the icons that is accompanied by a commentary taken from the Byzantine liturgical song. Furthermore, the Choir has recorded two versions of the Divine Liturgy with harmonisations by Pikler and Grečaninov.
